but saul, still burning with desire to put to death the disciples of the lord, went to the high priest,and made a request for letters from him to the synagogues of damascus, so that if there were any of the way there, men or women, he might take them as prisoners to jerusalem.and while he was journeying, he came near damascus; and suddenly he saw a light from heaven shining round him; and he went down on the earth, and a voice said to him, saul, saul, why are you attacking me so cruelly?and he said, who are you, lord? and he said, i am jesus, whom you are attacking:but get up, and go into the town, and it will be made clear to you what you have to do.and the men who were with him were not able to say anything; hearing the voice, but seeing no one.and saul got up from the earth, and when his eyes were open, he saw nothing; and he was guided by the hand into damascus.and for three days he was not able to see, and he took no food or drink.now there was a certain disciple at damascus, named ananias; and the lord said to him in a vision, ananias! and he said, here i am, lord.and the lord said to him, get up, and go to the street which is named straight, and make search at the house of judas for one named saul of tarsus: for he is at prayer; and he has seen a man named ananias coming in and putting his hands on him, so that he may be able to see.but ananias said, lord, i have had accounts of this man from a number of people, how much evil he has done to your saints at jerusalem:and here he has authority from the chief priests to make prisoners all who give worship to your name.but the lord said, go without fear: for he is a special vessel for me, to give to the gentiles and kings and to the children of israel the knowledge of my name:for i will make clear to him what troubles he will have to undergo for me.and ananias went out and came to the house, and putting his hands on him, said, brother saul, the lord jesus, whom you saw when you were on your journey, has sent me, so that you may be able to see, and be full of the holy spirit.and straight away it seemed as if a veil was taken from his eyes, and he was able to see; and he got up, and had baptism; 掃羅仍然向主的門(mén)徒,口吐威嚇兇殺的話(huà),去見(jiàn)大祭司,求文書(shū)給大馬色的各會(huì )堂,若是找著(zhù)信奉這道的人,無(wú)論男女,都準他捆綁帶到耶路撒冷。掃羅行路,將到大馬色,忽然從天上發(fā)光,四面照著(zhù)他。
他就仆倒在地,聽(tīng)見(jiàn)有聲音對他說(shuō),掃羅,掃羅,你為什么逼迫我。他說(shuō),主阿,你是誰(shuí)。
主說(shuō),我就是你所逼迫的耶穌。起來(lái),進(jìn)城去,你所當作的事,必有人告訴你。
同行的人,站在那里,說(shuō)不出話(huà)來(lái),聽(tīng)見(jiàn)聲音,卻看不見(jiàn)人。掃羅從地上起來(lái),睜開(kāi)眼睛,竟不能看見(jiàn)什么。
有人拉他的手,領(lǐng)他進(jìn)了大馬色。三日不能看見(jiàn),也不吃,也不喝。
當下在大馬色,有一個(gè)門(mén)徒,名叫亞拿尼亞。主在異象中對他說(shuō),亞拿尼亞。
他說(shuō),主,我在這里。主對他說(shuō),起來(lái),往直街去,在猶大的家里,訪(fǎng)問(wèn)一個(gè)大數人名叫掃羅。
他正禱告。又看見(jiàn)了一個(gè)人,名叫亞拿尼亞,進(jìn)來(lái)按手在他身上,叫他能看見(jiàn)。
亞拿尼亞回答說(shuō),主阿,我聽(tīng)見(jiàn)許多人說(shuō),這人怎樣在耶路撒冷多多苦害你的圣徒。并且他在這里有從祭司長(cháng)得來(lái)的權柄捆綁一切求告你名的人。
主對亞拿尼亞說(shuō),你只管去。他是我所揀選的器皿,要在外邦人和君王并以色列人面前,宣揚我的名。
我也要指示他,為我的名必須受許多的苦難。亞拿尼亞就去了,進(jìn)入那家,把手按在掃羅身上說(shuō),兄弟掃羅,在你來(lái)的路上,向你顯現的主,就是耶穌,打發(fā)我來(lái),叫你能看見(jiàn),又被圣靈充滿(mǎn)。
掃羅的眼睛上,好像有鱗立刻掉下來(lái),他就能看見(jiàn),于是起來(lái)受了洗。
